A man named Joel Tenebaum owes the US a hefty fee of $67,500 because he shared 30 songs. 30 songs. Really? last time I checked 30 songs was at least $30 on itunes, or other music download sites. But, you know, the companies need their "damaging fees". Which means they need an extra $67,470. The fine was actually lowered from a previous $675,000 charge. But I suppose the Judge was having a good day.

It's painfully obvious that the government is taking sharing very seriously now, with them hunting down video sharing websites and shutting them down, to them locking down limewire. Pretty soon the whole interwebs will be in government control. Then what? Will it be like China, restricting access to informational data and records, and blocking services? Who knows. But my point is, be careful what you do on the internet, or use a fucking proxy.
