Everyone who accesses the internet has a unique IP address. Whether its a computer, a cellphone, your video game console, and even some clocks out there, they will have an IP address if they need to get on the internet. Websites run on IP addresses too. There are 2 kinds of IP addresses, ipv4, and ipv6. Ipv4 is the most common, and has been used ever since ethernet was established. But because the inventors of it never realized the internet would be how it is today, we are running out of addresses, and fast. By fast, I mean less than a year.
